“Strange Fruit” is quite of a
song. Its dark themes are racism and lynching in the American South. Billie Holiday had just the perfect delivery for this song written by Abel Meeropol as
a poem. Since I am partial to Tricky’s sound, and these two have collaborated,
the new delivery by Persia White is just the thing.
